Deputy Regional Director- C40 Cities

silhouette-1721306_1920The Deputy Regional Director will support the C40 Regional Director, the Steering Committee cities and the other C40 cities in the Region to ensure C40 is responsive and provides effective assistance to its member cities in Latin America.

The Deputy Regional Director will work to advance cities’ participation in C40 activities and support the Regional Director in: i) the engagement with the C40 cities in Latin America to ensure they comply with the C40 Participation Standards and get involved in different initiatives offered by C40, ii) tracking and reporting key results in the Region, and iii) answering specific requests for information and support from cities.

Person Specification:

  • Substantive experience of working in city and/or central government administrations or climate change related international NGO or business.
  • Some familiarity with a network of senior contacts in any C40 city in the Region, current/potential partner organisations, and the Latin America national governments.
  • Proven ability to engage with decision makers at a political or executive decision-making level within cities in Latin America.
  • Ability to work in an international organization and across regional and cultural boundaries. C40.SOP/HR/001 F2 3
  • Strong technical or policy background in climate change and climate science and in public project evaluation or international funding for public projects.
  • Significant experience in a relevant field connected to climate change and/or sustainable urban development. • Relevant academic degree ideally at Masters level.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is a requirement and knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.

Other Requirements:

Applicants must already have the right to work in any C40 city in Latin America and particularly in Mexico City, Bogota or Rio de Janeiro. Moderate to significant travel will be required, as part of the role.

Consultor mitigación- C40 Cities finance Facility

hands-952510_1920El objetivo general de la actividad es apoyar a la SDM en la construcción de la línea base, potencial de mitigación y diseño del sistema MRV del proyecto Ciclo Alameda Quinto Centenario. Para tal fin se ha propuesto contratar un consultor/a que:

Operador(a) I Planta Tratamiento Aguas Residuales – Industrias Aliadas – Grupo Nutresa

Velar por la correcta Operación y Control de los procesos desarrollados en la planta de tratamiento de aguas  residuales – PTAR , generando y reportando oportunamente  la información de operación al Coordinador Sistema de Gestión Ambiental

RESPONSABILIDADES

– Monitorear y generar los resultados de parámetros diarios de operación como son : PH, Alcalinidad , temperatura del agua y caudal.

-Monitorear y generar los resultados de parámetros semanales ( o con la frecuencia que se requiera) de control como lo son : Conductividad, Demanda Química de Oxigeno (DQO) y Sólidos Suspendiendos Totales.

– Operar y controlar los equipos e instalaciones en la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales en sus sistemas primarios y secundarios.

– Operar y Controlar los equipos, materiales y sustancias químicas del Laboratorio de la PTAR.

– Manipular aditivos y sustancias químicas que se emplean en la PTAR.

– Efectuar inspección y cuidado a los equipos para verificar su correcta operación.

– Desarrollar laboresde limpieza, pintura y cualquier otra destinada a mantener la buena presencia de las instalaciones de la PTAR y el laboratorio de aguas.

-Efectuar los trabajos de conservación necesarios en instalaciones, equipos y tuberías para evitar y corregir averías.

– Retirar el sistema de tratamiento de lodos y borras residuales para su posterior aprovechamiento externo como material para compostaje.

– Retirar las grasas del sistema de tratamiento de aguas residuales.

– Registrar Turno a turno la bitacra de operación de la PTAR .

– Realizar entrega de turno a turno reportando novedades de operación, actividades pendientes y estado de válvulas de operación de la PTAR.

-Dar cumplimiento a las rutinas establecidas en el listado de actividades de la PTAR.

-Realizar semanalmente (o con la frecuencia que sea requerida) la medición de caudal 24 horas a la entrada y la salida de la PTAR.

-Realizar seguimiento y control de caudales de entrada y salida  PTAR.

-Realizar la limpieza turno a turno de los filtros del sistema de tratamiento de aguas residuales.

– Descargar cenizas provenientes de caldera borra en el lecho de secado acorde a la necesidad.

– Responder oportunamente los llamados por el sistema de comunicación interno

– Hacer uso correcto de los EPP  para la labor.

-Acompañar y asistir al personal de CORCUENCAS  y/o personal externo de laboratorio de aguas durante los muestreos.

-Identificar y disponer los residuos de la PTAR  y laboratorio de aguas, de acuerdo al programa manejo integral de residuos.

-Cumplir con los  estándares de calidad, seguridad, de los alimentos, medio ambiente, seguridad BASC y buenas prácticas de manufactura establecidos por la empresa, incorporando las herramientas de TPM, innovación y mejora continua.

– Cumplir todas las normas de seguridad y salud en el trabajo orientadas al autocuidado, al reporte oportuno de incidentes y la prevención de accidentes en el lugar de trabajo.

– Presentar informes oportunos y demás que le sean  solicitados sobre sus actividades y proponer acciones correctivas y de mejora relacionadas con el desarrollo de sus funciones

Under the direct supervision of the PAHO/WHO Representative, and the technical guidance of the Director, Communicable Diseases and Health Analysis (CHA), the incumbent is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, the following assigned duties:

  • Provide technical cooperation to the Ministry of Health and other national health authorities to ensure access to safe water and sanitation facilities by the population; propose, monitor and evaluate technologies and strategies for their effective implementation;
  • Provide technical cooperation in the design and implementation of Water Safety Plans (WSPs) and Sanitation Safety Plans (SSPs), as well as relevant monitoring and evaluation of initiatives;
  • Cooperate with government agencies in the development, improvement and promotion of Water Quality Surveillance Systems, fostering the linkages between water quality data and epidemiological data;
  • Advise and collaborate in the planning, development and monitoring of plans, programs and projects related to water supply and sanitation: master plans of water and sewage systems, risks assessments, contingency plans for droughts and flooding, prevention measures for neglected tropical diseases (malaria, LF, dengue), by promoting health and hygiene promotion strategies, programs, plans and activities;
  • Advise and coordinate wash-related response to waterborne disease outbreaks and natural disasters, in collaboration with health response to emergencies;
  • Provide technical advice, follow-up and support to activities related to social and environmental determinants of health, including the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the conclusions of the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health, and PAHO Commission on Equity and Health Inequalities in the Americas;
  • Provide technical cooperation in the planning, development and monitoring of health promotion programs and projects for healthy settings, including healthy cities, applying health promotion and local development strategies, concepts and techniques;
  • Provide technical cooperation for the strengthening of national institutions involved in sustainable development and social and environmental health; advise and collaborate in evaluating and solving environmental and consumer protection issues due to urbanization, industrialization and agricultural activities; guide the formulation of relevant policies, plans and programs; develop and maintain the coordination of technical cooperation with national and international agencies;
  • Support the development of tools and methodologies to help promote health in all policies and mainstreaming of sustainable development in health throughout governmental institutions; support the development and functioning of networks of institutions, organizations and individuals in the area of health promotion and prevention;
  • Support the establishment of programs related to the regulation and control of toxic substances and hazardous waste that present risks to health and the environment, including those produced in hospitals and other health facilities, with a special focus on air pollution;

  • Advise and collaborate in the establishment of programs related to the regulation and control of toxic substances and hazardous wastes that present risks to health and the environment, including those produced in hospitals and other health care centers;
  • Systematize, document and disseminate the successful experiences, preferably those at the local level, implemented for the development and continuous improvement of the services of promotion and prevention of environmental diseases.
  • Promote knowledge management activities in the areas of responsibility, using all the available means for the dissemination of relevant evidence-based and scientific information.
  • Promote inter-programmatic and decentralized work at the different levels of the Organization in order to achieve the maximum of efficiency and effectiveness;

Project Analyst Infrastructure Strategy- The Nature Conservancy

This Professional will be in charge of the development of administrative, financial and procurement activities that allow proper planning, execution and monitoring of projects within the framework of the Infrastructure Strategy. The Professional will be overseen by the Infrastructure Coordinator and will coordinate its work with other members of the TNC Finance and Operations team and the NASCA Management Team.

Responsibilities And Scope

  • Support the build and updating the operating plans of the strategy and implement action for its improvement, coordinately with the infrastructure coordinator and financial team.
  • Develop the necessary administrative and financial procedures for the execution of the agreement, grants and contracts of the strategy coordinately with the financial team of TNC and following the requirements of the donor.
  • Prepare the necessary periodic financials reports of the projects and agreements of the strategy.
  • Perform administrative and financial management for the publication, request, monitoring, file the contracts and agreements of the infrastructure / lands strategy.
  • Prepare and manage requests of amendments to contracts in accordance with the guidelines of the supervisors and previous approval of the coordination.
  • Carry out the processes of purchase and acquisitions of goods and services of the strategy with the guidelines of the technical team and the SOP.
  • Maintain updated the contracts and agreements data base, including products due date and related payments. Give alerts of the administrative compliance.
  • Verify compliance of all administrative SOP by professionals who use resources of the strategy.
  • Develop the logistic activities necessary for the developments of events, field days and trips of the professionals of the strategy and guests that are required.
  • Support the review of the required expenses report, legalization of advances, expenses with credit card and requests for repayment made of professionals of the strategy.
  • Monthly check the appropriate load of Latin America Finance Systems – Larfis of the staff members corresponding to each of the projects of the strategy.
  • Financial responsibility may include working within/managing a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development, and meeting fundraising targets.
  • Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
  • Support the Strategy Coordinator in planning and execution of the strategy, including preparation of financial inputs for new proposals.
  • Prepare the inputs and attend internal audits and contracted by the donors of the strategy.
  • Work articulately with the teams of grants for public funds and private fund.
  • Maintain organized the general archive of the strategy
